All About Pocket Knives

Maybe some of you are like me, you pick up an old knife and get to using it as an EDC even though it has an issue. I bought this Boker 7593 camper knife with the master blade broken with the intention of either finding a donor knife or making a new blade. This one had the master broken and light yellow paint all over the handles. It most likely got the blade broken trying to open paint cans. Turns out I did find a donor knife, but it was nicer than this one. It was the same pattern only in stainless steel and it had a broken spring. Did not make any sense to try to use the better donor to fix this one, so I have been using it as an EDC "as is". I smoothed up the broken off end and sharpened it and it works fine. Kind of a bizarre looking Wharncliff blade. Maybe some of you have favorite EDC knives that have issues, over sharpened blades, broken handle materials, broken blades, no snap, or other issues but you use it an an EDC as is even though it is "not all there".

O.C. that is what happens when you have a real love for all knives. You gotta

I own knives with broken blades or handles.
But, I won't carry a knife with broken or worn out blades or broken handles.

I carried this one for a number of years. Broke the blade and a friend reshaped and sharpened it.

The knife that helped lead me here has tools with weak or no snap. It's largely retired from carry, but it did serve me admirably for 12 years

I've acquired some Swiss Army knives with issues since then. One has a bent corkscrew, and another has not only badly worn scales, but also a terribly dull blade with a broken tip. Both are going in for repair soon. The third has white scales that are horribly dingy, but it still functions well enough that I use it when making something out of paracord.
