All About Pocket Knives

Guys,
I just listed this knife in my store here. After listing, I got a little uneasy thinking it might be a China knock off since there is no makers name on the tang. It does have MILANO stamped on the tang.
Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Made in China. Hope you didn't pay more than $20 for it.

Thanks, Sam. I just went and pulled it out of my store. Actually, I paid a little less for it but still mad at myself for not recognizing it for what it is.

Don't feel bad. Believe me you aren't the first to think those are Italian. Milano is a dead giveaway on those stilettos that it's China made. Fun knife to play with though.

Ray! As Sam stated, the Milano stamp is a very good indication it's not Italian built. Also, the large brass pin under the safety is what the Edgeco knives from the 1980's used so they could remove the blade for shipping to restricted countries. If the blade was not installed on the knife, then Customs didn't consider it a knife, but "parts" instead, and legal to import. Once the customer received the package, it was a simple matter of sliding the spring into the channel and inserting the large brass pin to hold the spring in place. You'll notice the knife also has a nail-nic, and I'm sure they did this so when the cheap spring broke you could still use it as a manual. If you paid less than $20. then you got yourself a teriffic "click therapy' knife!

Well, I got it in a batch of stuff that I hesitate to call a collection. I somehow thought this might have been the 'Pony' that Dennis The Menace was always expecting to find amongst his Christmas presents. If you were a fan of Dennis, then I'm sure you'll remember Hank Ketchum's Christmas cartoon.
