All About Pocket Knives

Found this little gem in a pawn shop and acquired it. I don't know much about GEC but recognize their reputation for quality.

This is a single bladed trapper, and apparently a Painted Pony mod with what looks to be acrylic scales. The Tang is stamped "Great Eastern Cutlery, Titusville PA, 235108" on 1 side, and has the Painted Pony logo on the other side.

Does anyone recognize the Painted Pony Pattern scales....Not finding much out there as to the catalog of Acrylic/Corelon patterns out there

As I understand it, since it is a man made product Corelon has a near infinite variety of different color combinations. Handle covers are individually “poured” either by knife (as would be done at Mike Prater’s Painted Pony operation), or into individual slabs for sale to others. Unless you have the box label specific to your knife or someone recognizes it, you may not be able to identify what they called that color. Your other option might be to contact Painted Pony, or Frost Cutlery who owns the Corelon trade name, and ask them.

Sadly no box, and just perusing the Painted Pony website definitely says there’s a lot of variation out there
