C.F. Blanke & Co. Champagne knife

I have a very interesting knife...Three and one fourth inches closed Champagne Pattern
This four bladed knife is marked on both handles..... one handle (C.F. Blanke & Co. St. Louis, U.S.A.)
The other side marked... (Blank's Kafeko The original malted grain coffee)
This knife's blades consist of corkscrew, can opener and two regular blades stamped (C.F. Blanke tea & coffee Co.)
Germany is marked on the back of the small blade...A small hole is in the knife but no picture is inside
I didn't find anything in the books about the knife but found some information on internet ..I believe this knife to be made about 1900
Just curious if there are others out there maybe some different types

A little simpler example. Tang stamped: "IBAYA" over "IBI". European made. J.O'.

raincrowe, very neat knife. I have never seen this marking before: "C.F. Blanke/Tea & Coffee/Co." Usually the tang marking is the manufacturer or importer, not of a company selling tea and coffee. It is a unique find, real keeper.

Very nice knife, Raincrowe, and a wonderful bit of St Louis memorabilia. It's too bad the Stanhope viewer is empty, wonder what happened there. I see the occasional Adolphus Busch Stanhope knife at shows around St Louis, they go for $300 up close to $500. Adolphus is better known and highly revered around St Louis, so not sure what a C F Blanke would be worth w/o a picture. Still a very nice knife.

Waukonda...I also have a Adolphus Busch Stanhope knife dated Jan 1, 1900...but it has seen a lot of use over the years...Comparing
the knife to a coin it would rate way down the scale from mint...both of the knives have no pictures...I don't know the reason why..
The larger blade I can't read anything but the smaller one with the loop I can see.... John Primble India Steel

I wonder how the lens and picture are affixed to the handle ? Somehow they get loose and fall out. I have had a few knives with a Stanhope lens and only 2 still had the picture.

kj... Those two knives are the only ones I've actually held in my hand...I can't answer why those pics aren't there...
they were bought at separate times and different people...sorry I can't be of any help!!

I have one very similar, it has a broken blade but I bought it in a knife lot and was taking a chance the Stanhope lens was still good, it was.
The picture is still intact and easily viewable.
I also have a Anheuser Busch knife with the Stanhope lens in considerably better condition.

You have some nice knives... the Anheuser Busch looks to be in very good condition...I'm not sure how the Stanhope lens is attached
or why it would it would fall out....It would be interesting to see one...thanks for the information

The lens is threaded together, it usually will not fall out however the picture is on Celluloid so it degrades just like old Celluloid knife handles will and the entire picture will disappear. Also some people will remove the lens for whatever reason.
