I posted this in the "European and Other Foreign Manufactured Knives". No responses, so I thought I would try here.
The tang stamp appears Eastern European to me, but I really don't know.
The pictures aren't good, but the best I could do with my tablet. I attempted to draw the tang stamp.
Information would be appreciated.

Perhaps it is П Денев, Нержд? (I'm going from memory here). That's "P Denev" and "Nerzhd" in English lettering. If so, it's a Bulgarian maker of folding cutlery--I have a hobo knife by the same maker, and I've seen pocket knives with that mark as well.
So your guess of Eastern Europe is spot on.
