All About Pocket Knives

Hey there! I recently inherited this old knife. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

to AAPK, DatsunDave. That's a Mark 2 fixed blade made by Camillus for the Marines. There's others here with in-depth knowledge of these knives, one will see this thread soon and be able to provide you with more info. From your pictures, it is possible you have the most collectible version with the plated blade, but I defer to what others say. Of course, condition is key to determining a knife's value.

WW2 1219C2 Fighting/Utility Knife - the USMC on the guard is what makes it a 1219C2. If it had U.S.N. over MARK2 where the USMC is, it would be a USN Mark2 Fighting/Utility Knife. The only difference between the two being what is marked on the knife/guard.

"Thin", i.e., 1/4" pinned pommel, guard stamped, with a slight factory curve to the guard would indicate late 1944 to end of war manufacture. The leather sheath appears to be consistent with late war issued versions.

To my understanding, Marines were not officially issued the BMC/VP USN MK2 green plastic/fiber sheaths. Doesn't mean they weren't "acquired" by a Marine.
