Hey Fine Folks,
There is a thread for Russell Barlows but I'm having trouble dating/authenticating this Russell Hawkbill.

Can't date it but I have a couple like it. It's an oldie! Here's one with the J. RUSSELL CO. stamp below the diamond "R" diamond
GREEN RIVER WORKS
Ebony handles, iron liners and bolsters. Looks similar to yours and a "relic" too. Crazy about hawks!
J.O'.

This is the picture of the knife in the Ferguson book. He actually doesn't state 100% certain this is the 1834 catalog or it infers Russell was in business since 1834? Tricky dating these by the tang stamps. 99.9% sure the oldest Russell Barlow's are straight line and have no diamonds in them, but that isn't true on some of the other older styles of their pocket knives. Many of them in the 1834? catalog that Ferguson pictures have diamonds in their tang stamp. Many of the Barlow collector's think it was 1935 when Russell and Harrington merged that the diamonds were added to the tang stamp on the Russell Barlow knife.
