My only Case

I have this little guy for a while. I don't collect Cases, nor does the pattern have much of a place in my collection, but this is too neat a little knife not to show off. I guess it's a Peanut, right?

The bad news is the bone on the other side, as the pictures will show. I haven't decided what to do about this. Super glue it , keep it as is, get it professionally replaced, or trade it off to a real Case man and let one of you guys decide.

Anyway, it's a really neat little knife and still mighty sound for being 70+. I can see why people like the old Case knives so much.

I'd leave it as is. Probably hurt the value if you get it rehandled, jmo.

Really? I'm not too proud to admit that it's entirely possible that I could assume 70-90 year old stag was bone. Looked like bone to me!

Stag's cooler anyway!

I like it the way it is. Lots of history there.

The only thing that gives me great concern is the big chunk down at the bolster. It is quite loose, held only by the rivet. I seldom handle the knife because it feels like it's just about ready to fall off completely. I would like to secure it somehow.

Rescaling???? I can't believe the thought ever crossed my mind. ::doh::

it is stag handled dan, and a very nice looking old knife. i wouldnt glue it, but you might talk to muskrat man and he might be able to rehandle the one side and get a pretty good match, im not sure, but i would talk to him about it. having the one side rehandled wouldnt hurt the value in my opinion since the handle is cracked and broken. anyway, its a great ol knife.
