All About Pocket Knives

Years ago when I was a kid if I went to a zoo, national park, or other tourist attraction if there was a gift shop I would look to buy a knife from that particular place I visited. More often than not my mother would not let me have a knife probably why I collect so many today

Most of them were cheap/inexpensive made knives from Japan or Imperial and Colonial made knives.

Yes, that would have been many, many years ago I own many of the small fixed blades from different tourist destinations, parks, zoos , etc. along with the small keychain knives I would sell them on here if I thought there would be potential buyers ?? Many of my small knives were from the 1960’s,1970’s After that I didn’t see the fixed blades anymore !! Not to say they weren’t around somewhere. I always liked them

Had a bunch of those little "CUB HUNTER" sheath knives and sold them all to a guy at a show. To an 8 year old boy in the fifties they were really special.
Back when a boy could carry a little knife without raising any eyebrows. J.O'.

I just pulled out a couple of dozen along with a few other Sweet small knives and I will be selling them on EBay in a couple of weeks !! Takes time to sort thru them and see exactly what I have I saw some really nice ones and some cheapies as well Not asking you to purchase anything but rather just to check them out Take Care

Got one of those that is an advertising knife.

Very recently, this became one of the latest pocket knives to join my collection. It came in a group of four pocket knives that I bought (not for this particular knife). It's a DIAMOND - H. KESCHNER - GERMANY, two blades, 2 tang stamps, 3" closed, all metal, advertising pocket knife. The main side says "SOLDIER'S HOME - SOUVENIR - ERIE CO. OHIO.", the other side says the same thing, "SOLDIER'S HOME - SOUVENIR - ERIE CO. OHIO." Per GOINS, "DIAMOND g 1900-1910 "H Keschner Germany" is stamped on the back of the tang." I took some pictures and here it is.

It translates to "In memory of Copenhagen."

This arrived yesterday and is one pocket knife out of a pair of pocket knives that I bought. But, I did not buy the pair to get this particular pocket knife. THAT pocket knife is a few posts below this post. THIS pocket knife is a souvenir of the 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair. It is a "N.SHURE CO. - CHICAGO", 2 blades, 1 tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal pocket knife. The "N.SHURE CO., CHICAGO" was an importer, NOT a cutlery company. The main side says 1933 WORLD'S FAIR CHICAGO 1934 and has graphics of HALL OF SCIENCE, TRAVEL TRANSPORT, FEDERAL BLDG. The other side says 1933 WORLD'S FAIR CHICAGO 1934 and has graphics of ELECTRICAL GROUP, ILLINOIS HOST BLDG., FORT DEARBORN. It needed a good cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Skip that is a good looking knife and appears to be in excellent shape. I have started picking up some of those types of knives in the last year or so. Their kind of fun...

This pocket knife is the other half of the pair that I very recently purchased. It is the pocket knife that I bought the pair for. The other pocket knife is the last pocket knife that I posted above this post. This pocket knife is a single blade, cap lifter/bottle opener handle, 3" closed, all metal pocket knife. Until I cleaned it, I could not read the tang stamp in the seller's pictures. I just expected it to be another G. SCHRADE tang stamp. It DOES NOT have a G. SCHRADE tang stamp! It has an "ETCHED P. CO. - L.I.C.N.Y." tang stamp! All three GOINS books that I checked said the same thing, "Etched in L.I.C.N.Y. c 1933." The main side says nothing, but it has graphics. The other side says "1934 - CHICAGO" and has some graphics also. I cleaned it, took some pictures and here it is.
