Just picked this up. I'm excited because I'm a fairly new collector and this is my 1st knife that's 50 years old. I think it's going to make a mighty fine addition in the showcase.

Very nice! I have a 1976 that I carry. they’re beasts and very pocket friendly.

Niiiiiiiiiiiice! Does it have the elephant blade etch? Some had 2 fighting elephants and others had an oil rig. I have one with the single elephant.

No,this one just has plain blades. I love learning about all these different knives. This forum is GREAT! And this new hobby has put a dent in my "rainy day stash". ::facepalm::

Here's the normal elephant etch, a Bradford Bonanza and a Case Classic Twin Bulls.

Very nice! For new collectors without a big budget, the Toenail can be a challenge to find in good condition, especially older ones.

I am hoping Rough Ryder eventually adds their take on the pattern to one of the carbon steel lines.
