Vintage Folding Knives With Fixed or Folding Swing Guards

Anyone have any old knives with swing or fixed guards?

Some are pinned to the blade tang and "swing" into position when they the are opened or closed, others are a fixed feature of the bolster.

The idea obviously being to keep your hand from slipping on to the knife edge.

Show 'em if you have any ::tu::

MB: Here's an L.L.BEAN by KA BAR in black composite, and a 1980's KA BAR Doggie reissue in nice red-brown bone. I like the swing guard concept. Good post. J.O'.

Great knives being shown.

This is a Press Button Knife Company automatic with a Swing Guard. This is the Victor model.
The company was founded by George Schrade, who sold it to Walden Knife Company. I'm told this one was made prior to 1923. It shows substantial blade loss, but was refurbished by Muskrat Man to operate like new.

Not too recently, this "fishtail" pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. There is absolutely NO country of origin, or ANY other stamp(s) or marking(s) remaining, anywhere on this pocket knife. It could POSSIBLY be a HAMMER BRAND, "fishtail", pattern or style of pocket knife. It is an UNBRANDED, one blade, 3 7/8" closed, long blade pull, "fishtail", pattern or style of pocket knife. The blade does have a SOFT half stop. The blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The blade does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
