My Laguiole Liner Lock Knife

I bought this in July of 1993 in a medium size city "Le Puy En Vallee" which is in about the center of France. My eldest daughter had just finished her grade 11 there thanks to a Rotary scholarship. There were many cutlery stores and i visited a few. Choosing a Laguiole knife is not a simple or easy task. They are made by many manufacturers and when you ask which is the best each shopkeeper has a different opinion which he will defend vigorously.
Having supper at a big table in the big old apartment from the 1700's, the father of the home sat at the head and took his Laguiole out of his belt sheath and began cutting up his food.
This is one of 3 Laguioles i bought, a 4 5/8" Poyet-Coursolle liner lock with ebony handles. It came with it's own sheath. I think i have used it a few times and probably sharpened it was well.

kj that is a great story. I have about 6 or 7 of those style knives, but not a liner lock or any other kind of lock. Thanks for posting it.
