Does anyone have any information on the first Barlow knives and the man who made them? I am interested in pictures as well as information on the knife and the man. I don't know if I have the name right or not. It seems like I seen it like this in a knife book. The Samuel had a (?) after it. If I did see it this way, his first name may not be known or else it might have meant Samuel Barlow made knives but maybe not the first to make the barlow. Any info. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

I want to bring this back to the top as I'm interested in the first barlows. Also to add that according to Levine's book...I WAS WRONG. As I understand it from his book, it was OBADYAH (sp) Barlow who first made the barlow and Samuel was a later maker but probably from the same family. This is one of favorite patterns and ANY information you would have, I would very much appreciate. If you have one of these older curved barlows and would like to sell or trade it, let me know. Don't care about shape all that much. Thanks
