All About Pocket Knives

Jim Sargent's books referred to a 1964 Case xx 62131 that never made production but some made in to collector market. I have acquired a knife but want confirmation. The bone looks different, blade looks different, non-polished, shield not recessed flush, back spring thicker. Etc , but knife looks factory made with beautiful handles. See pics and discuss .
I have includes some pics with a stag XX and a bone 1970 for reference.

Welcome to AAPK. Sorry to tell you but in my opinion the knife is not authentic. The jigging is not Case, looks like it was probably done with a dremel. The stamp looks off also, probably cold stamped - note how the corners of the letters are rounded, not squared. Shield not recessed is a sign that the knife’s covers are not original - it takes the right tools and skill to inlet (recess) the bone for a shield. Might be able to tell more about the rest of it with it in hand, or with better pictures, but the jigging is not Case. JMO. Are the blades stainless steel?
