All About Pocket Knives

Hi guys!

My grandfather recently passed away and his trusty pocketknife ended up with me. He took the thing everywhere and it reminds me of him, so I thought it would be nice to learn something about it.

I noticed it was a Camillus and did some digging around these forums. Based on the tang inscription it seems it’s a 60s to late 70s model, but even using the extensive catalogs over at Collectors of Camillus, I couldn’t find an exact match... At this point it’s a matter of stubbornness for me!

Knife seems ~3 7/8 inches when closed; clip, spey, and sheepfoot blades; interestingly, no shield. I found a few close matches like the 308 model, but length and blade details differ.

Looks like a model 67 premium stockman, probably made in the '50's -'60's. I may be mixing it up with the model 68 one of them has a punch and the other doesn't (this one obviously doesn't) and I can't remember which is which.

Just checked the 1972 catalog and the knife is shown there. It is a 67, what may be confusing you is that the catalog knife has a shield whereas your knife doesn't. It is certainly not uncommon for manufacturers to produce knives with and without shields as a cost saving method. Most 67's do have a shield. This was one of Camillus most popular patterns and one like it was produced from at least the 1930's until Camillus went out of business.

I'm far from a Camillus expert, but it looks like a 67 to me, too. Unless it wore away, you should see "67" stamped on the tang of one of the blades.

Dan, no expert here either,Camillus did not put model numbers on all knives . Can’t remember the time frame but will check and get back here with info, if someone else doesn’t post it .
Do Agree it looks to be a 67 . Nice clean piece too

I could have phrased that a little better...you may see the pattern number stamped on the tang of one of the blades. Thanks for the enlightenment.
