ID a tang stamp

I can't figure out what this is--There is a Fraser & Co from Sheffield form the early 1900s, but what is the first line of the tang stamp? My first thought was part of the company name, but maybe it's a brand or something? Ends in "X", but it doesn't look like "INOX" (which seems to not be used much in English and American knives, anyway).
It's on both blades, but the one is almost totally unreadable.
Knife is about 2-1/2" long.

Try using a pencil to rub over the lettering. Sometimes the graphite in pencils will make this more readable and it won’t hurt the knife at all.

If it's Fraser & Co. from 1870-1914 they were sold by Hudson Bay Co.in Canada. Levine gives them the highest value rating. Cool knife.

I tried the pencil idea and it didn't do much for me (this time around, but I'll remember that for the future).
