All About Pocket Knives

I bought this old Buck 105 sometime in the 1965/1975 year range. I didn't know anything about them, just wanted one to carry deer hunting. Someone was showing a 110 with the inverted "Buck" on it, so I thought I would put a photo up for this one. If anyone can shed light on a closer mfg date or othe info it will be appreciated.

The one line 'Buck' inverted stamp dates your knife between 1961-1967. It should also have red fiber spacers. (or they could have turned brown from age/use) Nevertheless, you have a nice old knife that appears to still have some life left to it.

The blade stamp of BUCK* indicates the year 1967.

I have a 105 that was made somewhere in the same year range as yours. They sure are good quality knives. I also have a 118 I bought myself around 1982. The 100 Series Bucks don't get the respect they deserve.

Leon that’s a fine looking old Buck. I love old knives like that, in great shape but with just enough honest wear to have some stories.

Thanks for the kind words. The old Buck reminds me of myself, not quite antique, but certainly "vintage", and it's shows too. I do remember that it was really hard to sharpen, but I didn't have all the good stones that I have now. Every so often, I touch it up on the hard Arkansas stone and a strop, even though it doesn't really need it.
