All About Pocket Knives

just a honest old knife
now me and my wife have had a discussion--shes says its brown and i say green---what would you say
all the blades have good snap opening and closing the punch blade is tight but still clicks opened and closed...the handles are a little pocket worn but still have some nice jigging,
what would one be worth like this in the books and also what would it bring in the condition its in??

nice old case but very worn, hard to put a value on it. what ever you get will be less than you believe it to be worth. so many 47s, it's hard to tell which you have. mint 6347 pu lp - $1200, yours - $? less than mint.

none of the other blades are stamped but it does have a extra liner on the punch side...
i got 41.60 in it.
wife says i like the old beat up ones more than the new pretty shiny ones.i run on a tight income seems like when i get some extra to buy one i do most of the times choose the older ones that are in my range and as ive said before i do like them old CASE TESTED knives..little boy likes them but the chinese falcon high kick kunfu knives catch his eye as hes just six..
and my little girl 8yrs just wishes id get off the computer..

Looks like greenbone to me. Good lookin old knife Mike. You can make a little profit on what you gave for it anytime. Some of those buyers get crazy on the bay sometimes. IMO the bay is the best place to sell knives like the one your showing. Sometimes they go for about what I think they are worth and other times they go off the charts. Guess it depends on who is watching and bidding. Nice knife you have there.

Mike a Tested 47 with punch nice! It should be marked on master blade only as is. Master blade down a fair amount. IMO worth four or five new 47's.

stockman the master blade is down a right smart but hes got a lot of cutting left in it..looks like somebody sharpened it more in the middle.
it does have great snap master blade jumps open with authority..
wife still says brown bone says were color blind...

looks like green bone to me too. its hard to say what resale value could be but the 47 is a popular pattern and usually runs a little higher cost wise and in my experience, the ones with a punch blade usually sell for more than the regular ones. id say youre definitely not hurting on that investment.

It is Greenbone for sure. However, I doubt it will bring a ton of money because of the condition. Nice old knife though.

i was wondering about the extra liner on the punch side.
was it made like that to offset the top of the punch from hanging over the handles??
