I've never seen a stag Catt. Toenail, or any Catt. toenail with a shield for that matter. The only ones I've ever seen had plain Indian Trail bone covers with no shield. Also, they all had the model number 22929 on the small blade, not the company tang stamp. Those stamps look a bit on the deep side too.

BTW I'm referring to originals, not any later copies.

I’m very suspicious. That looks like Sambar stag, which I doubt Cattaraugus ever used. I’m not a toenail expert so the rest of the knife may be okay. ::shrug::

I have no idea at all...but...that is a gorgeous toenail !!!
You see the RD initials up by AAPK logo, that was Roger, he was from Texas...
the biggest toenail freak and collector I ever met...
to bad he is not with us, he would know...
always worth a post to remember an AAPK member not with us anymore !!!

The knife was made of Cattaraugus parts long after the factory closed. The stamps are modern.Has Eric said,Catt didn't put shields on their toenails and they didn't have stag on them.A fair percentage of Catt toes were put together out of parts in the 70's. Some are hard to tell from original, but most aren't.
