That steel rocker pin does look odd.

Whole knife looks fake to me. I have nothing to base my reasoning on except for the casting flues that are visible and the shape of the C.

I'm going to recant my previous assessment. Shield looks a bit weird to me but I think it's OK. Center pin looks wrong as mentioned by redrider.

Casting flaws? All parts were die stamped, no casting involved. Not a Case guy, dunno about it's authenticity. But on any early 1900s knife I would not necessarily think a steel rocker pin with brass sale pins would be out of line. I like fixed blades myself, a lot less parts to be messed with.

I'd be interested in hearing what some of the other Case experts have to say. Perhaps if you post it on the Case forum, you might get a few more opinions. In my opinion (for what little it's worth) the knife looks fine to me except the rocker pin. It is clearly either steel or NS, and I don't recall EVER seeing a Case knife with brass scale pins and a steel or NS rocker pin. And, the rocker pin head on the mark side looks to be poorly done. As previously mentioned above, one reason for replacing the rocker pin would be a spring replacement. Another reason could be that it was disassembled for a total restoration, but I don't see any other evidence in your pictures that it was taken apart. And, anyone going to the effort of doing this would have used brass for the rocker pin. So, I like the spring replacement theory. For reference, attached are a couple of quick pics I just took of a similar knife (62028 WR Case with Rodgers bone) that I have. Hope this helps.
