All About Pocket Knives

My old Bowie cuts rope .
I got this knife about 20 years ago and at the time the seller claimed it was a old WW2 Era knife .
All ID marks have been ground off , so if it really is a WW2 Era knife .

A) Was it a German made knife ?
B) And because of the war did the owner grind away all such evidence ?

The original sheath was so old it was falling apart . So I made a new sheath .

?? I cant say one way or another , but I have had it for around the last 20 or so years . ( I cant remember exactly )
At 150 slices of rope it fails , after some bla bla on my part I check for a rolled edge ( Viola ) . The edge had rolled .
Cant remember what angle the bevel is at ? But , the leather strop brought the edge back .

Chiffonade of rope. Looks tasty. There are dozens of makers who could have made that knife, from all over Europe and through the Americas. Gunsil might have an insight. Curious-- Are you Brit? Aussie? NZ?
