All About Pocket Knives

I have a need to know something about the Kephart knife. I noticed a picture of the knife in FOREST AND STREAM MAGAZINE IN 1899, pictured with no visible means of attachment, which didn't seem right. My main question is this: Was the Kephart knife actually manufactured as a cataloged item in a knife makers line, of was it something that just a few example were made? It sounds like something Webster Marbles would have included in his line, but that's just my speculation. Can anyone enlighten me?

Google is your friend. If you google Kephart knife you will find an article from Knife Magazine about the original knives. Evidently there are presently only two original knives known. They were made by Colclesser Bros in PA and they did advertise them for sale in magazines of the time.

I remember seeing a dagger/fighting knife marked "KEPHART". Any relation to these? What seemed weird was that it was not the standard "Kephart" knife that has been replicated by Kabar and Condor in recent years.
