Odd German knife

I ran into this German made knife today and wonder if anyone knows much about it. Value? What is it? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Even though this pattern is fairly rare not many people collect German knives so the demand is low and hence price is low. On ebay it might get $40 ? on a good day.
