Inherited pocket knife - possible Walden???

Good evening!
New member here. first wanted to say THANK YOU for this great site and the information therein. My grandfather died last year and I recently inherited a small collection of pocket knives from him. With thanks to this site, I was able to pin down identification of most of the knives, will the exception of one.
This knife had considerable corrosion on it and required some time to clean up. Upon initial inspection of the knife it looked like it had no tang stamps at all, but some work with a Dremel and a mini - wire wheel a partial tang stamp emerged. The top line is almost illegible. But, on line 2 you can clearly see KNIFE Co., and on the bottom line N.Y.
The closest I have seen in doing research is perhaps the Walden Knife Company, but the actual logo as is written on the knife is not shown in any Walden tang charts that I have found.
The knife has definitely seen better days ( my grandfather worked in construction ) and at some point in it's history has had a homemade replacement scale put on it. The other side is wood and has a scout type emblem on it. If anyone can confirm if it is a Walden, ( or not? then who? ) and how old it may be that would be fabulous! I just wish my grandfather were around to tell me the history of this one, because it surely has seen some kinda adventures.
