Camillus 4 line jack #2033

Snagged a nice one off the bay that just arrived, and it's a head scratcher. According to Parker - Voyles 1983 guide, it's a #33 pattern. They're description says "stagged" scales, but I'm fairly sure its delrin (or something close) But the real weirdness is the pattern number of #2033 on the back of the main. I've had a lot of Camillus knives over the years, and never had one with a four digit number. Anyone run into this before ?

Delrin didn't come along until like 1960. The rest is a head scratcher. But a very knice knife.

Thank you sir ! I didn't even think to look up a "Sword Brand" catalog, I've been looking at the regular Camillus pdf, never dawned on me that they would be two separate lines. ::dang::

Well, now I'm getting somewhere !

Thanks, it's in great shape for sure !

As for the handles, I found something in the Camillus 1946 catalog stating " knives marked as stagged, may have handles made of Plastag* " Guess this was their proprietary handle material. Sounds about right, since I can see no color variation on these handles, like you would get with real stag.

Nice knife! ::tu::
I find it difficult to date this (at such moments I miss Tom Williams), but I can say for sure that it was made before 1946.

Thanks, not bad for $20 !

I'm thinking I have it narrowed down to 1941 - 1946, probably as close as I'll get 8)

I think you have committed grand theft cutlery. You’d better send it to me to keep the cops from finding you holding the evidence. :mrgreen:
