One Just Never Knows Who You're Going To Run Into...

Back in 2019, I had been going to a specific estate sale event this man and his wife conducted at least two times a month. At this estate venue, there was a very nice, friendly and exuberant individual who ALWAYS greeted the people arriving with a "Good Morning", "Glad You Could Make It", Please, Just Go Right On In". He always wore his "I Love Jesus" ball cap and would hand out his 'calling card' or personal business card to those who chose to accept it. He would talk to those who engaged him on a Spiritual level about the Lord and provide encouragement to many. I overheard many conversations while looking at items for sale near where he was assigned to be.
After about the third time of going to this venue and seeing this gentleman, I was leaving and decided to stop and engage him in conversation, because I was intrigued with is character, disposition and just plain 'happy' demeanor. I'm soooo glad I did, for I received not only a blessing with talking to him, but an HONOR of meeting someone with GREAT history and past. To this day, I am still in awe of the 'odds' of meeting this man, at an estate venue, who assisted the man & wife of the "Back To The Future" estate sales agency. The man's name is Earl Christy.
Now...you may not know who Earl Christy is, but if you happened to be an avid NY Jets fan, you just might remember him. Earl was a cornerback and a punt returner with the NY Jets back in 66-68 and played with the famous likes of Joe Namath and Maynard. Furthermore, Earl is a Super Bowl Champion. In 1968, Super Bowl III was played by the Jets and the Colts. The Jets destroyed the colts. Earl had several returns in that game. There is a lot of history, highlights and information about him if one desires to conduct a search.
Below is a link to YouTube, which is an interview Earl did back in 2018. He talks about his life, his career and his love of the Lord. If interested, it's worth a listen. Earl was gracious to allow me to have his photo taken with him...AND to put his Super Bowl ring on my finger for the photo. It was a gazillion times too big for my finger.
Anyway...just wanted to share a moment in time when I was honored to be in the presence of a GREAT athlete from the past and a celebrity in his own right. Who woulda thunk?
