Fresh from Glennbad’s Lair!

A while back I sent a couple of projects to our very own knife wizard, Glennbad. One was a anew in box mint black box Winchester large congress that came to me with beautiful celluloid scales that just had to go, I wasn’t taking a chance. The other was a well used old HOK, a Boker USA cattle knife with brown shrunken composite scales an a loose pen blade.
For the Boker I wanted a solid user and wasn’t expecting anything super fancy, I chose Culpepper’s RV Goldenroot bone, and Glenn suggested some of his custom shields and I though, why not! Here it is before:

As you can see, pretty ugly! Now here it is all gussied up!
The Winchester large Congress I unfortunately don’t have any before pics of. But it was right pretty and the blades were dead mint. I decided to do something bold with this one and I’m glad I did. The backstory is that my youngest boy is epileptic and purple is the color of epilepsy awareness. Simon things that purple is HIS color, lol. So I decided to shock him and go purple on this one. Culpepper had their American Standard in Violet and that’s what I picked. I think it turned out stunning and everyone who’s seen it in person has caught their breath! Here she is...
Those pics were taken inside so they don’t do it justice. The purple is very dark and vibrant with a gradient effect from darker to lighter from the halting.
Glenn did it again. Just when I think it can’t get any better, he steps it up a notch or three! Thanks Glenn for everything!

With Glenn's work the hardest thing seems to be finding the appropriate words to fully capture the...beauty...perfection...craftsmanship...superlative magnamositivityness (

)
For Glenn, apparently, it's just another day in his shop doing what he does.
Congratulations, Colonel26, on some very fine glennbad mods...very fine indeed.

Glenn always does such beautiful work!

Good on both of you for saving these old knives.
Of all the knives in my collection, my favorites are the customs that I've received from the knife artisans right here on AAPK.

Thanks for the kind words guys, Glenn deserves all the credit. Here’s a better pic of the Boker. It accompanied me to the barn today.

Ditto for me...the modified/customized knives done by Glennbad, Lansky1 and Ivoryman are crown jewels in my collection.

Humbling to read that with all the incredible autos and customs, mods and one-of-a-kinds you post around here. I was just here reading about Glennbad and couldn't believe seeing myself included given my pittance of contributions to your jewels list. And I echo your sentiments since some of the best stuff I have are mods from Q and ones Q had set up done by Glennbad. And half the rest of my besties are stuff from Gunstock Jack, Jeffinn and a few other AAPK brothers like Railsplitter, J1890, Big Monk, Sharpshinyknives and Kennedy knives. All thanksgiving and appreciation to all of you. My world wouldn't be the same without you. Nor would my pile. Thanks and all the best to all of you.
