All About Pocket Knives

George Marsden, Sheffield.
From what I gather in Tweedale's Directory, this small knife (1 15/16") was made by George Marsden,
father of George R. Marsden, 1850 - 1899.
George and Charles Marsden (brothers) were making spring knives from 1860 until Charles died in 1863.
George continued making knives in 1881 as recognized by the Census.
His wife, Hannah was a widow in 1891.

I made a mistake stating the length of this knife.
It is not 2 15/16". It is 1 15/16". About as small as I will allow in my pile of knives. Still, it was built with integrity and is not a novelty item, but that thing is pretty small. I really bought it for the Marsden stamp.
And I like the way that spring comes around. And how about that square kick.
