Interesting. If you enlarge the picture of the bolster it looks like it has 2 pins going through it and one of them is mushroomed out. When you have the knife in hand are there other indications the blades are not original to the frame? Such as are the springs flush and do the blades line up properly? Hard to know many things from just looking at the pictures. Canton Cutlery was known for knives with pictures in the handles. I'm sure they made others as well, but the knife with pictures were most common - I think? Also went to Ebay and searched for Canton Cutlery and looked at only a few knives. I don't see a tang stamp like you show. You might spend more time and look at other knives. The stamps I see all have Ohio in them.

The o in Co is underlined. That usually indicates German manufactured.

That applies to very old German made knives.

I've been paying attention to that detail you shared with me.

Old German! Nice. That bit of info will come in handy I have no doubt.
