Hello;
Hoping someone might be able to id this folding knife. Blade is loose. Measures approx 5-5/8" long open. I've had it for years, and, just realized it has a mark! Sort of a starburst, followed by an asterisk
Thank You!! :)

Welcome to the forums! What you have is what is commonly referred to as a,"penny" knife.The reason for that is they were a very inexpensive knife(probably cost not much more than that).Most have a simple turned handle such as yours does while others could be somewhat more ornate with carved handles.Almost impossible to date even though yours is marked and they have been made for literally hundreds of years.If I had to guess I would venture it was made around the turn of the twentieth century(1900)or possibly a bit earlier. Not much collector interest in them. I have a couple.
