All About Pocket Knives

Does anyone know of any current production sowbelly stockman knives in carbon steel or D2? I like the looks of them, but all I find currently produced are Case, Boker Magnum, H&R (very nice), and Marbles. All stainless.

The Case Classics are the only ones I know of, if you can call 13 years current! This is a Sowbelly Whittler, with the long spey and skinner blades.

Bulldog may make one in carbon steel.

Bulldog has some 25th Anniversary models (same maker as the H&R).

Bulldog also let Queen make that same knife above back in 1995.

Here are some 1995 Bulldogs made by Queen. These have Prototype etched on the back of the master blades. The one that says Yellowbone is actually Greenbone, just shows what happens when you sit behind a computer to long.

The Johnny Appleseed Knife Collectors is production and 1 of 50. I think these are high quality knives and most are unaware of them and that Bulldog contracted Queen to make these as they are doing in 2007. Excellent for the Queen collector also. I don't have pictures of both sides, guess I should for the protos, but when there is hundreds of knives --

Moore Maker offers a 3-blade and a 5-blade sowbelly each in yellow bone and 1095 carbon steel, made by Queen.

Is there a more traditional Swaybelly made in recent years in carbon?

I'm a big fan of Moore Maker, but I had a stockman pattern in mind, as pictured by gmusic. The H&R's, if made in carbon, would fit my bill exactly.

To jack my own thread, I'm a bit perplexed by the price differential in the whittlers vs other three-bladed knives. Is the three-backspring construction much more labor-intensive?

Knifeswapper, it looks like the Bulldog "Cuttin' Horse" pattern is exactly what I'm looking for. Is this a current production knife?

For that matter, did Queen ever make that particular pattern for Bulldog?

I guess the most recent production was 2004. Queen only made two patterns for them (until the last couple of months); sowbelly whittler and small moose.

Queen also made some Primble's.
