My 110 is from 1973 I believe. No dots just - Buck, 110, USA.
I'm about to send it back for the spa treatment.. I was going to have a new blade added.
Should I just have it cleaned? I'll order a new nylon pouch as the original leather one.is getting worn.

Guess it depends on what kind of memories you've made with the blade.
That, or what kind of shape it's in.

I’m an overly sentimental type of guy. If I had had it that long and used it to the point that the blade is worn out, I’d retire it and got a new one personally. Pass the worn one along to a child or grandchild who will appreciate Pa’s old knife and use the dickins out of a a new one. That’s just me.

I have two with extreme sentimental value. Completely worn down. I had new blades put on them both several years ago. No regrets. The choice was to put them away and never use them, or make them new and keep using them.

If yours is only worn a little have it cleaned and sharpened.

This one was a 2 dot that needed the spa and to be tightened up. It came back like new. I specified to leave the original edge and to leave it squared off.

These were obvious candidates for blade replacement.

A 112 and a nickel silver Ebony 110 that needed new blades, and a 212 that went back for a warranty repair. Buck did not disappoint.

Definitely don’t replace that blade. It’s not hardly worn at all. You can decide it you want the original edge or the new edge 2000 which should be easier to keep sharp.

Let them know it’s sentimental and tell them to leave the bolsters “squared”.

Treat the sheath with some leather conditioner and retire it if you want, but it has value too. Don’t throw it away.

It will come back looking new.

Your 110 blade is made of 440C which is superior to the 420HC Buck is using now. I would leave it as is. Just put a note in that you'd like it resharpened, which I believe they do as part of the spa treatment anyway. It will come back to you looking new.

Buck has it. It will be 5 weeks before it goes SPA. Keeping original blade and square bolsters. My 422 Bucklite is not ready for SPA yet. Too new, I bought it from Cabelas the first time I saw one.

The 422 Bucklite was bought from Cabela's catalog in 1983. It is still in pretty good shape. t

Wow, turned out great. That has been my experience with Buck customer service also.
