All About Pocket Knives

Anybody know the pattern number of this knife? It's 4-1/4" closed, bird's-eye bolsters, brass liners, French ivory celluloid. Stamp is block letter REMINGTON over UMC in a circle with "Made in USA surrounding. The blade is nicked but doesn't appear short. See the top view. The butt end of the spring nearly touches the blade tip. My first guess is an 'Office Knife" but I'm not sure. Many of them are embossed and this one isn't. Any help on the pattern number would be welcomed. Thanks ,J.O'.

I'm not familiar with Remington knives but the style is similar to a florist's knife made by several makers.

The pattern number for your large florist knife is R1955. At one time it had the words “ Say it with Flowers”. John

That's him! I had an ivory Remington budding knife,but without the inscription I didn't think "florist" on this one. Thank you gentlemen.J.O'.

There is also a 2 blade, 31/2 inch version with of the Birdseye knife. They are not extremely valuable but rare due to being used up back in their day. It took me several years to find near mint examples of both patterns. I have collected for many years and have only seen a few of the R1955 pattern. Nice knife. John
