All About Pocket Knives

Hi Friends,

Here's a little story that has been popping up in my mind for a few months now. Thought it was time to share it with you today. Many of you may know it already, some of you may not know it.

Each of you can help me improve the story if I can get you to follow my easy step by step instructions. After you read through the instructions, please put aside all your electrical devices for just a few seconds and follow the instructions before you continue to read through the story.
I would appreciate your cooperation.

Step 1) I would like for you to place the tips of your thumbs togerther & also put the tips of your pointing fingers together & while holding them together, please form a circle. A nice circle. As close to a perfect circle as you can.

That's it. That's all the instructions. If you wish to help me improve this story, please do that now before you continue to read through the rest of the story.

(Pause)

Ok, so did you make your circle? Do you know what you now have?
You are now the very proud owner of your own "ROUND-TUIT". As in "around to it".

A Pastor told this story in church over 30 years ago when I lived in Florida. Then he added in some things like (I don't remember the exact things he added in at the time but it was something along these lines.) :

If you have been meaning to read through the whole Bible, or
If you have been meaning to witness to someone, or
If you have been meaning to spend a day with the family, or
If you have been meaning to buy your wife some flowers, or
Whatever it is that you have been meaning to do but you haven't gotten a "ROUND-TUIT"...,
No more excuses.

I enjoyed this little story that the Pastor told to us in church as I was a teenager. I enjoyed it so much that I have never forgotten the story or the Pastor who told it. His name was Pastor Ed Hartman. I also remembered his wifes name was Barbara. And his children's names were Eddie, Shane, John & Michelle.

I was curious about them today, thinking about telling this story here so I looked around & I found Pastor Hartman & his wife Barbara. Looks as if they still live in FL (in New Port Richey) & are still ministering to people. http://hartmancares.org

Think I'll have to send them a Christmas card this year.

Don’t wait for Christmas Tom. Send him a note recounting your memories of him and his sermon.Tell him a little about AAPK and the fact you told the story here and include a gift of a pocket knife. Maybe even send him a printout if your post. I bet he will get great joy from hearing from you and will cherish the knife. Maybe follow up with a Christmas card and a modest check to support his ministry. Ecclesiastes has a verse to the effect: “Don’t wait for perfect conditions, just do it.”

I thought he lived there. But I doubt if he knows Ed for some reason. LOL!

I thought about sending him a Pocket knife. If I could, I'd send him a Case knife with a scripture on it but the postage alone is about $60. Plus the price of the Case.

Or I’ve got plenty of knives I don’t mind parting with. I can send you a photo of a dozen or so, you pick one, and I’ll send it off as “a gift from Tom.” No $$ exchange hands.

That's a very kind offer Dennis & I do appreciate it but I'll just send them a Christmas card. Who knows if he would appreciate a pocket knife like we would. But Thanks for the kind offer Buddy!
