Imperial Shell Handle Muskrat rebirth, well sort of

Finished this last night.

Took off the old shell handles, added bolsters and some nice African wood of some sort.

As you can see, I'm still having pin problems on the bolsters - they either sink down, or I can see a bit of a ring. Must not be tapering the hole right.

I intentionally used NS pins with SS bolsters - to see what it would look like. Got a nice satin shine to it, but I left the blades with some tarnish. The blades are stamped with a "wave" from the factory.

Still don't have a real buffer, just an old wheel mounted on my drill press.

Tried to use my newly made pin head spinner, and it was a complete failure....back to the drawing board.

Still trying to be like Master Muskrat Man

Thanks MM...it does look better in my hand than on the photos.

I was going to try to use a new 1" belt sander last night, but the motor blew up on it...well, it arc'ed and sparked and blew the breaker -- I guess it's fried now.

Off to the Pawn Shop tomorrow....
