All About Pocket Knives

I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this knife.
I have had it for years but have never been able to find anything about
the manufacturer. All it says is PIC 555 Germany. Thanks in advance.

PIC was a New York knife company that imported from Germany and Japan. PIC = Precise International Corp. located in Suffern NY. From
1954-1966, knives with this mark were made by Schlieper. Don't know who made them during WWII and before. An opinion expressed on Google is that they were of decent quality.
That's all I could find in a quick survey of Google. A good place to start your research and which will sometimes bring you right back here to AAPK.

I think you knife was most likely made by C. Schlieper better known by it's trademark name "Eye Brand". The other possibility is Boker but there are slight differences in frame shape and yours looks more like a Schlieper to me.
PIC sold good quality cutlery originally sourced from Germany and later from Japan.

I know one thing about it. It's a great looking knife.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses. Its a nice knife with carbon steel blades
and I have had it for at least 30 years if not more. And I have searched high and
low for info on it. And as they say "now I know the rest of the story".

I’ll agree with the others, it’s a great looking knife and most likely Schlieper as it doesn’t look like a Boker frame. Either way it would be one heck of a knife!

I almost said that my kind of knife, but as JerryD pointed out the last time I said that, they’re all my kind of knives.

That seems to be my problem, they are all my kind of knives. I started out collecting
Queen but then the collecting just seemed to start wondering all over the place.
I tried keeping a list of name brands but got lost so just gave up. Plus you don't want
the significant other to really know how many are scattered around the house.

My problem is if I see a knife I like and can cover the cost with what I have on me
then it usually follows me home.

This applies to many of us here and over time can lead to a few thousand knives lying around on every surface in your house. It's o.k. and it's fun and way better than spending your money on crack.

That’s very true!

I’m just as bad Runted. There are brands and patterns that are favorites of mine, but any knife that grabs my attention is subject to being bought!
