All About Pocket Knives

Hello Boker folks. I'm new to the site and thought I'd share two of my favorite Bokers.
The larger one is a 5974 pattern, 4-3/16" It's a big heavy knife in great condition.
The smaller one is a 6006 pattern, 3-11/16"with rattail bolstersalso in fine condition.
Both are very tight, walk and talk very nicely. Tangs are stamped BOKER USA
I have another with the German-style tang stamp. Gotta dig it out and post it.

Hope you enjoy them. I've had them over 25 years.

Here's the smallest one. No pattern number, just the old style stamp and the little tree on the reverse of the tang.
This one is 3" and in fine condition. Beautiful, dark red-brown Rodgers style bone. Love it.
I assume that it's USA because it has no nationality stamping., unless it's before the tariff but I tend to doubt it. Any opinions welcome.

Your 6006 is identical to the one I have.
I have carried it every day for at least 50 years.
It's my favorite!

I love them big ol Boker Congress Knives. I have three and one of the 3 5/8” ones too. One of my favorite patterns of all time.

I've got a big ole Boker USA congress that's a dead ringer for the top one shown above. I carry it occasionally but not every day. It's stout and holds a great edge.

I just bought a congress USA Boker pattern 6006. Are the handles bone or synthetic? When did they quit making the USA Bokers?

Ridgegrass, the ol Boker large Congress is a great knife. As a kid in the early 60's my Pop had a 5974 pattern he carried for many years. This old Boker had a broken blade, the back scale was cracked and part of it was missing. He decided to send it to back and have it repaired, at that time Wiss & Son owned Boker. He received it back and it was beautiful, they replaced one blade put on a new red jig bone scale and polished it up. My Pop never carried that knife again, he said it was to pretty to mess it up he said, he used his knives and always carried a pocket knife. I lost Pop in Dec of 2015 at 89 years old, he was a WWII vet serving in the South Pacific as a combat engineer, he was my HERO and best friend. Yes I do have that knife!

Hey "Trap" That's a great story. The stories mean every bit as much as the knives do. My Dad was in the Pacific in New Guinea and Leyte, Phillipnes. Got a Bronze Star, Infantry Lieutenant, ARMY. Here's all his ribbons/commendations. He died in '88 at 68 years old. The 4 packs/day of L & M's got him! Thanks for the answer, reaqlly enjoyed it. J.O.'

By the way, He was born in Bluefield. The Family are the Cooke's (Cook's) of Wyoming County. Great history there too!

Wow! What a great story! We’d love to see that knife if you have pictures.

Thanks Ridge, our Dad's were true hero's during a time when they were just young men, it makes me so sad when you see all the unrest in this nation, flag burning, building burned, property damaged and Police officers killed and injured in the name of free speech. I can remember that Gold Cross with the black background on Pop's uniform, he was a Sargent. I'm in Raleigh Co. and have worked in Wyoming Co and there are several Cooks in Wyoming Co. I was a sales manager for a Hydraulic company so traveled a good bit in Southern WV. I'm not real computer smart when it comes to posting pics but could email someone a pic if you would like. You're right about the situation. That generation was truly the best we've had. But I still believe the good people in this land will prevail.

I posted this 3", bone, Congress last year. Still wondering if any of you Boker aficionados recognize the mark. I haven't seen one like it. There's no country of origin, just the old-time script "BOKER" and the little tree on the reverse. Pre-tariff German? Thanks for any info. J.O;.

That is a nice congress. I dont think I have seen a Boker with that stamp that I didnt like Ridgegrass.

I recently drove from TX to AZ to pick up a lot that I had won in auction. (Mistakes were made)
I was pleasantly surprised to find a 2 blade Boker congress in the mix, as this will be my first congress and only my second Boker. Although I'm not a huge fan of all the blade etching that is prevalent in modern knives, I do appreciate how easy it is to identify and research a knife when it's model number is front and center. Or so I thought...
This is marked as 5264 and when I look it up I get absolutely nothing. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
