All About Pocket Knives

Picked up a mystery Great Eastern It's a 2008 Horsecut Ruby Red Bone Scout Pattern # 735108 . I have looked on Great Eastern Site and I can't find one any where. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe labeled wrong but I can find another one with this type jigging . Thanks in advance

The most I could find was a photo of a similar 73 pattern on GEC's website. In the photo, the handles look like they are red like yours, but the picture looks as though it was taken in low light conditions. The handles also appear to have about the same type of strange jigging pattern. Same acorn shield and blade embellishment.

Thanks for trying Mike I ran in to the same thing can't find any 73's with Horse cut Ruby Red Bone Handles in 2008. Looked in Production total and also the link you sent on Scout Pattern 73's . I was trying to find out a total produced for this knife it may be a one of a kind ????? Did find a mention of Ruby Red in 2007 but not the Horsecut Jigging .

The Production Totals lists are not perfect. There are some omissions. Is yours a GEC stainless steel knife ?

I don't believe it is stainless The tube doesn't give that info nor does the Knife so I'm guessing

The only Great Eastern Cutlery stainless knife I have is a 99 Wall Street, and it says nothing on the knife about stainless, although the tube does say "440C STAINLESS STEEL CLASSIC POCKET KNIVES" on it. Most of the Tidioute and Northfield GECs I have say "carbon" or "cs" on them but not all of them. Especially single blades with less room for stamping.

But if you go by the current GEC website, all "Great Eastern Cutlery" knives are stainless, and all "Tidioute" and "Northfield" are 1095 carbon steel. Back in 2008 it may not have been as cut and dried, I have only followed GEC for a couple of years. The way they describe them currently, if the main blade says "Great Eastern Cutlery" rather than Tidioute or Northfield, I would guess it is stainless.

Reminds me somewhat, of the made-by-GEC, Schrade, Fire and Ice knives. This one is 2007
