Case xx 22031 1/2 handle replacement

Morning friends, I was hoping to find out if anyone here would be able to help me out with a replacement of the worn/ chipped composite handles for a nice set of smooth bone. Would possibly like to retain the badge in the process. I know that most are busy with other projects, but would be grateful if somebody had an opening on their workbench. I've attached a few pictures to reference. Let me know cost with labor and shipping.

How well to the pieces mate up, the scale with the broken part? If they match perfectly, have you thought about cleaning it up really good and using crazy glue or epoxy?

I'd thought of that at first, but overall the composite scales have seen better days. Not completely sure of the age of this ol' fellow... but I thought if dressed in some new smooth bone scales it probably would outlast me

I completely agree with your idea about using smooth bone. I usually use smooth bone on knives that didn't originally have jigged bone scales. But, sometimes I use exotic hardwood like desert ironwood or wenge, and I also like od canvas micarta. Attached are pics of some of my keepers that might give you some ideas about what you may want to do. I recently tried some of Culpepper's black smooth bone (last pic). I think it seems to actually come out dark brown when I'm done hafting and sanding. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want to discuss. Regarding the age of your '31, I think the best you are going to be able to do is the XX tang stamp which dates it to 1940-1964.

Wow... You've got some beautiful knife's there! The first 4 top picture caught my eye, that ivory looks nice!
Kaleb messaged me, I'm waiting to hear back on a few questions. He's got to be a busy guy, turn around is 4-5 months. I'm not in a rush so that's good.
Might consider a ivory seeing that all my others are dark colors.

I wish that was ivory. It's undyed smooth bone. Sometimes you get interesting patterns in udyed bone, like in the first one. I'm sure that Kaleb will do a great job on your knife that will be well worth the wait. He does some beautiful work. Perhaps you should consider mammoth ivory? There seems to be quite a bit more of it available these days now that a lot of the frozen tundra is melting.

Lol...yeah goes to show you how much I don't know about the different types of bone.
mammoth huh, I'll have to look into that if it's not crazy expensive
