All About Pocket Knives

I have this nice little knife that snaps and is a good size. BUT. I have no idea how old it is. Is there a person that can help? I could not find a tang chart in that section. Also what does the number 28 indicate. Is there a chart for the number system ? Thanks for any help

Looks like "29" to me and it is the Utica pattern number. The arched "Utica" stamping is an older marking, from before about mid 1950's ? and is from a time when Utica folding knives were very well made, just as 'top notch' as New York Knife Co, or Schrade Cut Co., etc.

The pile side swedge on the pen blade also points to an older knife, probably mid or pre-1950's as Roland mentioned.

Glenn, do you mean mark side swedge on secondary ?
I do not see a view of the pile side secondary.

Nice knife, when they say”0LD” and 1950s in the same one I know I am really getting “old”.

Buy it candy and flowers. That will get your "foot in the door". Everyone likes flowers and candy.

This model is seen as early as 1929 in a Utica factory catalog, and as late as 1950 with the curved arch stamp. Paperwork for Utica is not common, and this model could date a few years beyond either date mentioned. The illustration below is from 1929.
