R.I.P. Bill Mack

Post by Mumbleypeg » Fri Jul 31, 2020 5:21 pm

Just heard that country music DJ, singer/songwriter Bill Mack has died at age 88 of complications related to Covid. For many years he was a “disc jockey” on WBAP out of Ft. Worth, a 50,000 watt clear channel station, and later until a few years ago on Sirius XM satellite radio, both heard nationwide. Mack wrote several hit songs including Drinking Champagne and Blue. His radio shows always signed on with Orange Blossom Special, and always signed off with Connie Smith’s Clinging to a Saving Hand. May you Rest In Peace in sleep eternal Bill. I enjoyed countless hours listening to you.

Anyone else remember Bill Mack?

Roy Rogers was a good friend of his. He would stop in and spend the whole shift with Mr. Mack. It was always an enjoyable evening listening to them.
