New Acquisition

Bought this beauty today. Lion Steel, Maniago Italy. M390 blade micarta handles and zero wobble. Alligator snap, and a rounded back spring, which I’ve never seen before.
It’s going to be hard to add to my collection and not use but it’s too good for me to devalue by using.

You will get even more enjoyment if you use it and then you can report back on how well it cuts and how long it takes to dull.
Life is too short to save all your knives for 'looking'. If properly cared for the value does not go down that much and you will have had the pleasure of actually 'knowing' your knife.

I say use it. I have several old knives I bought for not much, and don't use due to age and inability to find another, but all my most expensive knives are users to some degree; mostly modern designs in premium steels; that I had a specific use for, and I knew would perform better than those beaters, most of which were made before 1990, and in some cases, 1960. That being said, if it's going to be used hard, or around others, I go for cheaper stuff. Much cheaper. That's where Morakniv and Rough Rider come in at.

M390 is a great steel. Wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and very good in the edge holding area. I've not tried it yet, but want to. My main user is a 154CM Benchmade Mini Griptillian.

Nice knife Oscar. Lion Steel gave them a rather strange name but the Best Mans are fantastic knives.

I have a couple of the two blade models and one of the single Clip blade models. I've been holding back on getting a single Spear blade model but I'll probably get one sooner or later.

They are very confidence - inspiring knives. You done good! ::tu:: ::nod::

The handle edges look like they are 90 degrees, i.e. not radiused, or rounded along the top and bottom edges. If you have to grip hard to apply a lot of pressure on the blade these 90 degree handle edges can 'bite' into your hand.
Am i correct about the 'sharp' handle edges ?

Everything is radiused. Including the spine of the blade.

I agree exactly!

Very nice knife but use it once in awhile (not in tough jobs though). Enjoy the beauty by carrying it around sometimes.

I’d agree with you but I am prone to losing them.

KJ. They are radiused but would be better if they were more so.
