Looking for Someone to Make a Western 648 Sheath

If you have looked and the Repair and Rstoration Forum within the last couple of weeks, you may have seen where I restored a Western Model 648 that I found several years ago while hunting in Colorado. Since then, I have been looking for a correct Western sheath for the knife. I can find several that come with a knife, but no sheaths by themselves. Maybe I'm not being patient enough.

I have several photos of the sheath, so I decided to investigate how to make one. The sheath is a tubular one or foldover taco style. Obviously the first step is to make a pattern out of paper. I have done this step. I have also made a pattern out of heavier paper.

Would any of you sheath makers would be willing to make a sheath for me? If so, please contact me by PM to discuss details. Of course I will pay for the materials, labor and postage both ways. I will gladly send the patterns and photos to illustrate the sheath.

Jerry,

Do you have the leather already? If you made the pattern you are halfway home. An awl some thread and couple needles some wax and you can hand stitch it.

If you want one made I'm happy to talk with you about doing that. It's best to have the knife in hand to do it so you get a good fit.

Best

Ross, I do not have the leather. If you are willing to make one for me, I would be greatful. From the looks of your posts, you definitely have the experience as well as the equipment needed. If you would like to discuss further, can I send you a PM?
