All About Pocket Knives

Not posted for a while, but I found this little gem and had to share!
2 5/8" with a 2 1/8" blade. Pistol grip. Blade looks to have been blued and is hollow ground. Lovely horn scales. I thought the blade had been shortened, but there is still some blue on the tip, so looks to be original.
Your opinions/dates very much appreciated, as usual!

Sweet little knife! I think the "bluing" might just be age patina, knife looks like a castrating knife (shudder). Goins' says Hibbert & Son circa 1862 so it is a nice very old knife. He doesn't give a date range so it could be newer but definitely before the tariff act of 1890.

Some great curb appeal there! I would have expected 3 5/8 inches instead of 2 5/8 inches. ?

I measured again, just to make sure, as it has been known for me to get it wrong and this time I came up with 2 3/4" so the length is probably somewhere between the two!
