All About Pocket Knives

What's the story with that very first you posted? Really interesting.

That is the Buck 186 Titan.Only manufactured for a couple of years likely because of poor sales.Not because it was a poor knife but because it was about three times the price of a 110.The frame was made of titanium and featured a detachable pocket clip also made of titanium.It also was able to be dis-assembled using a small hex wrench that attached to the side opposite the clip for cleaning.In the kit was a plastic sleeve to slide over the blade to protect from cuts when dis-assembling.
If you didn't want to use the pocket clip or have the tool attached,shorter screws were supplied with the knife to allow for a smooth handle.
I bought mine I think in 1986 or 87 and they were $65 at the time. Later they made another titanium handled knife(Model 560)that could not be dis-assembled.One of them was just on e-Bay and re-listed a couple times because the price wasn't met.I think the auction topped at around $130.
As an aside what cracked me up about the 110 I have that is still in the packaging is the illustration showing the blade open and the nail nick on the wrong side of the blade!
