Case Tested Small Scout Knife Shield

Good Afternoon-

Received this knife with what I thought was a "Case Scout" shield with the pointed ends. It was unclear in the listing, so I figured that that most of the words were just worn off. But on real close examination, I see not even the HINT of stamping on the shield, and from my research, the "Case Scout" shield should be pinned on both ends, this shield only has one pin. If the stamp has been worn off, the bone scales do not match that amount of wear. Any thoughts from the Case community? Did they sometimes use this earlier shield on Tested era knives?

::hmm:: That is odd that the shield has one pin slightly off-centered . . .

Yes, Redrider - and I have no reason to believe that this was doctored in any way. Purchase price was low from a seller who does not usually sell knives.

What’s the closed length ? 3 3/8”
Looks like it’s a case JR scout , and that’s what the shield should read .

Yes, 3 3/8" closed, a Junior Scout. Same size as my Cattaraugus Whit-L-Kraft and my Ulster / Divine Girl scout knife. The blades are configured almost exactly the same on the Case and The Ulster.

Ha Ha Ha! Just realized that the title is "Smack Scout!" What happens when you are trying to multi-task 3 things at once.

Supposed to be "Small Scout."

Here's some more pictures of all 3 knives mentioned - I know we all like "Knife Porn."

It makes sense that for a small shield like that, small in size and with pointed ends, that they would attach it with a single pin.
