Found this one at a pawnshop in a cigar box full of knives. $20. I think that’s a heck of a deal if I’m not mistaken.

I would say so! I've been carrying and using the serrated RG-23 a lot lately as my heavy cutter, and it's very well made. Deals can be had on these. I paid $25 shipped, and it appears that it had never been used/carried, and I'm guessing, came from a closed cutlery store in Las Vegas.

That's a steal on that original Rigid. They go for around $100. The later Rigids with the R number I think were made in Japan or somewhere.

SMKW bought the brand name in the 1980’s or thereabouts, and moved production offshore.

GREAT SCORE! Those R-9's went for about $60 new in the 1970's(I know;I bought one).What I liked about them was they don't feel as handle heavy as a Buck 110 even though they are bigger.
