Cattaraugus Question

In another catagory on this forum, there is a discussion relating to A. G. Russell Catts and it prompted me to ask this question.
I have long thought that those older Catts (not the Russells) without a pattern number were likely knives that were assembled with parts bought when the Catt factory closed and parts were sold at auction.
Can anyone confirm that? I have never seen anything in print on this. ::shrug::

Hi! I can't confirm it either---But know a few people who bought up a lot of knife parts at the auction and all of the blades were marked-----numbered----and they LOOK like the REAL thing.Mr.Fred.
