Buck 112 Drop Point Blade

I just received an email from Buck, notifying me of a Web Special 112 Drop Point knife. These are new, and not a bad price at $64.00.

I saw that email too. Did you catch that link to the article on how CJ Buck lost the orginal 112 prototype? It was a great read. I'll post the link below.

Somehow I had never seen that story thanks for posting it. Buck knives are awesome. It is nice to know you are buying from a real family business that has stood the test of time.
As far as 112 drop points go, I believe Copper and Clad has a few too.

Eveled: Yes Sir, C&C had Buck make them some 112 SFO drop points. Buck just finally came out with them on their site and I wanted to post the availability. A lot of people don't receive Buck notification emails. Thanks for the reminder about C&C.

Yes a heads up was certainly justified, and appreciated. I’ve seen a lot and bought a few really special knives from the web specials page on the Buck site.
Bucks choice of blade offerings in the custom shop is sometimes odd. More options are better. (I wish for more no nail nick options)
I like to find a 110 or 112 on the web special page, C&C or SKblades. Then try to build the same one on Bucks Custom shop page. It’s amazing the savings they pass on to us. If you find one you like.

Up until 2014 or so drop point 112's were extremely difficult to find. SFO's since then give us many more opportunities to get one. The very first DP 112's were modified 500 blades by Chuck Buck himself and Leroy Reamer back in the 80's and all had a Custom tang stamp. The 450 model Buck is a popular blade swap and there was a factory run also in the early 2000's. The 482 is also perfect for 112 swap. Perhaps the coolest looking DP 112 was the high radius grind Boone and Crockett 112/113 set in Burl LE from 2013 or so. There's actually a DP 112 in S35VN that was a LE run of 250 with highly figured handles by Taylor guitars. One of the earliest in S30V was BCCI members knife with a run of 175. Absolutely sign up for emails from Buck and watch the website too for Web specials because many DP 112's sell out very quickly..especially the Buck of the Month which is always limited and has many cool configurations. I've been chasing DP 112's since 2007 and back then. I've never seen a drop point Damascus 112's..
