THEY PAYED POSTAGE ON EVERYTHING. COURSE BACK THEN IN THE HEIGHT OF THE DEPRESSION .83 CENTS WAS PROBABLY A DAY OR 2S SALARY FOR MOST IF ANY.

Before I reed orvets post I was thinking that TIP TOP was a way to say MINT back then.
This was very KOOL showing this piece of history.
I am glade I did NOT grow up through the depression. I know of many, many hardships the families went through. One short story. I know of is true. A family of 6 kids got up one morning and the only thing to eat was one jar of applesauce all day. Then ALL 8 had to go out and try to find work so they had food for the next day.
I came from a family of 8 kids and never went to bed hungry even if I was bad that day...
P.S. Most OLD CATOLOG FROM THE YEAR 1929 made good toilet paper back then....

A SUIT OF CLOTHES WITH 2 PAIR OF PANTS WAS $11.00 TO $15.00, PRETTY EXPENSIVE IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT. IF YOU CONSIDER KNOW ONE HAD ANY MONEY REALLY.

Makes me feel a little guilty. My old dad probably would wonder why a guy needs 400 pocket knives when one was good enough for his needs. We are a different breed in these days of plenty are we not?
